The Malaysian family Van Dort origines from the Sri Lankan family Van Dort. In this way they also origin from Cornelis Jansz Van Dort from Utrecht. The Malaysian forefather is Dr. Wiliam Gregory Van Dort (born 24/10/1841) whose eldest son Llewelyn Gregory moved to Kuala Lumpur and married a Ms De Alwes there. At the Pudu English Secondary School in Malaysia outstanding students can win the Van Dort Shield Award for outstanding all round student. This award is named after one of the principals of the school: Miss Van Dort. 20)
